CRMMM’24 Workshop: Advancing Research and Dissemination in Magnetism

The Current Research in Magnetism and Magnetic Materials: From Fundamentals to Applications (CRMMM’24) workshop, hosted by the University of Sevilla, proved to be a pivotal event for advancing the goals of the CoCoMag project. By fostering the exchange of cutting-edge research, innovative methodologies, and practical skills, the workshop underscored the intersection of foundational science and real-world applications in magnetism.

One of the highlights was a presentation by Thomas Schrefl (University for Continuing Education Krems), who delved into fundamental concepts of magnetism while showcasing some of the latest advancements and results emerging from the CoCoMag project. His insights provided a valuable bridge between theoretical frameworks and the project’s practical applications, emphasizing CoCoMag’s role in pushing the boundaries of magnetic material research.

Jia Yan Law (University of Sevilla) delivered an impactful session on the art of data visualization, stressing the importance of using appropriate colors, shapes, and data organization to create clear and effective scientific graphs. Her lessons resonated with attendees, offering tools that will be very helpful in their scientific careers.

The workshop also featured a hands-on session led by Thomas Schrefl, where participants were introduced to machine learning tools designed to optimize their research methodologies.

Zhe Cui and Elisa Guisado-Arenas (University of Sevilla) presented two posters regarding their theorical and experimental work on MM’X magnetocaloric alloys in CoCoMag project.

The CRMMM’24 workshop not only strengthened the dissemination and outreach objectives of the CoCoMag project but also fostered collaboration and skill development among young researchers. This event was a testament to the value of interdisciplinary dialogue and practical training in driving forward the field of magnetism and magnetic materials.
