The 10th IIR Conference on Caloric Cooling and Applications of Caloric Materials was held from August 21 to August 24, 2024 in Baotou, China, one of the largest regions housing rare-earth resources, thus a zone of rare-earth materials and manufacturing. CoCoMag Team members, Dr. Max Fries, Prof. Dr. Victorino Franco, Dr. Jia Yan Law and Prof. Dr. Oliver Gutfleisch, delivered several key note lectures on the fundamentals and applications of MCE materials.
Prof. Dr. Victorino Franco’s keynote talk was on “TFORC studies of magnetocaloric materials: models, experiments and beyond” in the Magnetocaloric Devices session.
After Baotou, team members from TUDA and Magnotherm headed to Beijing to participate in the German-Chinese Magnetism workshop with various Chinese universities and CAS institutes. Prof. Gutfleisch also delivered a lecture at the Zhong Guan Cun Forum on Condensed Matter Physics at the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Science.
Dr. Jia Yan Law shared her perspectives and review papers on magnetocaloric high-entropy alloys during her keynote talk, highlighting the compositions traced from the literature.
